The Social Innovation Tournament (SIT) is the flagship initiative of the European Investment Bank Institute (EIB) that recognises and supports the best European social entrepreneurs striving for a positive change for all. It is organised every year in a different country to reward and sponsor the best European projects whose purpose is to generate social, ethical or environmental impact.

Each year, it awards four monetary prizes of up to EUR 50 000 and two projects are selected to attend INSEAD’s Social Entrepreneurship programme. In addition to this, each finalist joins the #SITAlumni network which offers them funding opportunities, trainings, access to pitching events and conferences. In 2020, the Special Category Prizes will go to projects focusing on the environment (with a special emphasis on biodiversity and ecosystem conservation).

The tournament runs in two rounds. A selection committee, comprised mainly of EIB Group experts in innovation, the environment, and other relevant disciplines, selects 15 finalists. The finalists are invited to a mentoring bootcamp to provide them with the necessary guidance to finalise their proposals. At the final event, all the finalists have to present and defend their project to a jury of social innovation specialists. For more information, click here.

Applications are open from the 1st of February until the 4rth of March 2020, 23:59 CET. Don’t miss this great opportunity to generate a positive impact for all!
