Learn to be goal-oriented
Why?
People have different types of goal orientation. There are typically four orientations: Mastery Goal Orientation (MGO), or Learning Orientation; Performance Orientation (PGO), sometimes called Ego Orientation; Performance Orientation, where people seek to demonstrate competence, and, finally, Performance-avoidance where people seek to avoid revealing incompetence. Discovering your own type will not only raise your self-awareness but also help you set goals better. Motivation is key in the development of this skill and can actually help you to learn to be goal-oriented.
